digital painting trying to match colors to values of grey.

So i have a 3D printed sculpture on the way it was only 11 dollars and some change and will be here about Nov 7th. i used shapeways.com it was fairly easy except for the price range change. at one inch i was at 5 bucks for the print. At 4 inches i was up to 200 dollars. So anything bigger then a charm is still pretty expensive. But the process is done and i will show you the results that i get for my 11 dollars.

Quick morning sculpt before i head out this morning.

3D Printing

I am currently going thru the steps of 3D printing and will soon be posting a step by step of how it went, what i did, who i used etc.

The great thing about this model is i can pull quick realistic lighting for a drawing i already have made up a pose for. or i can get an idea of what a pose will look like from many different camera angles quickly eliminating the boring ones. i suggest you get a model like this to have in your arsenal.

Dont under estimate the dollar store i got this figure for a buck. He moves at all joints swivels at the head and even points his toes. Plus he looks way cooler then a block of wood!

This one is pretty much done will need to do some fine touch ups veins, a-symmetry  etc etc ..
but the main sculpt is done. ill add in again some of the earlier sculpts at the end so you can see how far it came.

Warm up no photo reference which you should always use but i was just warming up and doing a grey scale for fun. if you noticed i have been including my blending of colors that i us in the drawing to show how i change my values with the eye dropper. it comes in more use for color pieces.

Update on wood elf hands are re rendered and put the whole sculpt in dynamic lighting. Still going.

Got alot of work done on the rogue character. here is the sculpt so far.

Looking for tutorials or want to see how one persons process is in z brush or Photoshop or my-paint i have done a little bit of tut more like process recording. Having some thought free fun just reproducing warm cool cinematic shots for school.

Starting a new practice of warming up with a set of thumbnails before i draw to not only loosen up but provide me with future content and desperation to work with.
